Wrapping Up the Event!

We can barely contain all the info that came from Fan Festival 2006!

There are so many stories from all our staff and volunteers and we can't wait to tell them all! Fan Festival was really an amazing event and it looked like everyone had a blast. We'll be posting updates to our site about all the news and information that has come from Fan Festival as well as the tales and experiences our staff and volunteers had. So many things truly made this event our best yet, and just a few of them are mentioned below.

Treasures of Aht Urhgan Tour!

Our Attendees had an exclusive first hand look at the new expansion!

Through the Treasures of Aht Urhgan tour that was set up inside our Festival tent, attendees were able to experience the new form of conquest; Besieged! In Besieged players are frequently attacked by marauding monsters within the borders of town, and in order to keep the peace regular players may have to actively fight to keep down the surmounting threat. Attendees were also able to visit the surrounding woodlands of Mamook, the Mamool Ja beastmen capital, and Arrapago Reef where ships lay waste in a shallow grave.

Fan Festival Live Quest!

Making friends and working together made Live Quest a success!

Our Attendees were also actively engaged in our Live Quest, where each party of 6-10 people gathered together to complete challenges our talented NPCs handed to them. Each party member was given an Adventurer Coupon which led them to quests of varying style and difficulty and depending on their level of completion for each quest as well as their dedication and enthusiasm our NPCs awarded them a score. Some quests included gathering hard to find items around the Santa Monica Pier while others meant showing off their drawing skills. Ultimately three teams attained the highest scores and were awarded some great prizes. We'll provide more information on our contest winners soon!

Announcements from the Development Panel

Revolutionary news about FINAL FANTASY XI poured from our visiting development team!

We had many special announcements from our development panels where we also premiered the new and final job added to the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion; Puppetmaster! Some amazing additions were also announced to the regular content of the game making the first US visit by the development team for FINAL FANTASY XI truly a special one. A detailed account of the announcements the development team provided will be added soon.

Ballista Royale Championship!

The last Ballista Royale match was one of the most exciting yet!

The Ballista Royale Championships were broadcast live on PlayOnline Saturday night and it was truly one of the more amazing matches of this tournament. Our ultimate victors were Channelfournewsteam from the world of Siren, marking them the first North American Ballista Champions in Vana'diel history! They were treated to a special match against the Japanese Champions, also from the world of Siren after their victorious win! Full details on both breathtaking events will be provided soon.

Heroes Combat Tournaments!

The best of the best went toe to toe against each other in this exciting match!

In our Xbox 360 room we were treated to Heroes Combat tournaments where players were able to challenge one of the three great heroes of Vana'diel; Prince Trion of San d'Oria, Minister Ajido-Marujido of Windurst, and Captain Volker of Bastok. The battles were fierce but we had several triumphs among our attendees and aside from bragging rights our fans were rewarded in Live Quest for their glorious exploits. In-Game Item News!

The moogle rod is here! Check the dates and locations to receive yours!

The moogle rod is ready to be released to the attendees who registered for Fan Festival! But that's not the only in-game item that was awarded FINAL FANTASY XI fans on Fan Festival weekend! If you were one of the lucky attendees to be awarded the Cordial Invite (Heroes Combat) for successfully completing one Live Quest or if you happened to complete them all awarding you a Chocobo Wand, we have information for you as well. Below is the timeline, locations, and step by step instructions on how you can gather your in-game prizes and enjoy them.
